Livin It Up

by Thunderhouse

Thunderhouse Singers are from Lukachukai, Arizona on the Navajo Reservation. The name Thunderhouse comes frome a rock high in the Lukachukai Mountains. The name was given to us by a well–known Road Man in the Native American Church: Fred Harvey from Lukachukai. The Thunderhouse Singers have gotten enough courage to put out their first album: Living It Up. Thunderhouse Singers would like to thank God. If it wasn’t for him, this would never have been possible.

The Thunderhouse Singers would like to thank the following people for their help and encouragement: Bertha Jishie and family, Katherine Yazzie and family, Walter Jake and family, John Begay and family, Ray Yazzie Sr. and family, Norman Largo and family, Jason Owens and family and Fred Harvey. We would also like to thank Eddie Weber for the time and effort he put into this album.

We would also like to send our shout outz to these drum groups who have helped us along the way with their words of encouragement, teachings and songs: The Whitefish Jrs., Blackstone, The Boyz, Eyabay, Young Bird, Battle River, Walking Buffalo, Black Lodge, Northern Cree, Shadow Prey, White Ridge, Eagle Creek, Sun Eagle, and Fly In Eagle. Thank you for sharing your songs with us!

Thunderhouse would also like to remember our loved ones who have passed on through the years: our father Frank Jishie Jr., brother Nolan Burbank, Eldon Johnson, Leander Yazzie and Percy Dreaver. Rest in peace — we miss you!
