This book is intended to enable speakers of English to begin to learn Lakota. It is relatively brief, containing 3800 entries, 300 phrases, idiom drills, expressions of time, coinage, native birds and animals, and rules for forming Lakota sentences. It is simple and nontechnical, aimed at helping ordinary people in real situations. Note that this book is English to Lakota only. There is no Lakota to English section. 1997 revised edition.
