Copal is often burned as an incense by cultures indigeounous to Central and South America. This is the darker variety, sometimes known as Copal Negro or Black Copal. It is said to be used in Mexico during the Day of the Dead to help souls find their way back home. The copal pieces average about 1/2 - 1 inch in size, but are easily broken into smaller pieces for eaiser use as an incense. Charcoal tablets such as our Swift Light brand are often used to aid in burning copal.
