Round dance songs have been an important part of the American Indian Culture for generations. The songs are generally social in nature, however, many of the songs are used in various tribal ceremonies, Some of the songs used on this recording date back to the early 1900's but most were composed during the 1940's during the World War II era. Many of the tunes used on this recording originate form the Taos Pueblo, Kiowa, Crow and other tribes.
