Offering Pipe with Catlinite T-Bowl and Stem by Alan Monroe
Lakota pipe carver, Alan Monroe, has been making these small pipes for use as offering gifts. Some people have had a desire to leave pipes as gifts to the Spirits. Typically they are wrapped in a bundle and placed in a tree or some other appropriate place. These pipes are fully functional and would also make very nice gifts or be good for a small personal pipe. The bowl is an T-shape and is made from Catlinite. They measure approximately 2.25 x 1.5 inches and are 0.75 inches wide. The stem is made from ash and measures 7 inches long. The overall length when the bowl is joined to the stem is 9.25 inches.
