	Antique Trade Beads - Blue and Brown Chevrons - "Awale" Beads Old antique trade beads that are primarily light blue with light brown and/or navy stripes and date to the early 19th century. They average about 1/4 - 1/2 inch wide, but are sometimes a little smaller. A great bead that really gives an old-time look to your projects. And why are these called "awale" beads? We have no idea. That is what the African traders call them today. Sold by the strand. The "8mm" size varies from 7-9mm and has about 100 beads on a strand. View a close-up
