The Wampanoags
The Wampanoags were among the first American Indians to have contact with European settlers. They lived in the area of Massachusetts and shared their knowledge of the area with the first pilgrims. The Wampanoags still exist in several spots across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. They maintain a living history museum at Plimouth Plantation, MA.
